The Obama's Attend Funeral for Jean Biden, Vice President Biden's Mother

President Obama and wife Michelle attended the funeral today of Joe Biden's mother, Jean, who died Friday at age 92.

Former president Bill Clinton also attended the service, as did nearly 500 others.

Vice President Biden said his mother - Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan Biden - gave her her family many lessons for life, love, happiness, and success. Among them: "The thickest of all substances was blood."

The Obamas led a government delegation that included former Senate colleagues of Biden, such as Chris Dodd of Connecticut, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Tom Carper of Delaware. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also attended the service, as did Cabinet members Attorney General Eric Holder and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.
